About Kolkata Pulse
Bilingual stories (English & Bengali) preserving Bengal’s heritage, culture, and everyday life.
Our Mission
Kolkata Pulse is a local storytelling space dedicated to preserving Bengal’s heritage, culture, and daily life
through compelling narratives and visuals. We believe stories connect people—and help us remember what matters.
From street food and silent workers to forgotten lanes and festivals, we explore the untold in both Bengali and English,
using words, visuals, and voice.
What We Cover
- Local heritage & living history (lanes, landmarks, libraries, trams)
- Food stories & kitchens of Bengal (recipes, rituals, GI-tagged specialties)
- People at work (weavers, artisans, hawkers—everyday heroes)
- Festivals & seasons (Durga Puja to neighborhood para gatherings)
- Photo essays, short videos, voice-led narratives
How We Tell Stories
We blend reportage, memory, and craft—pairing on-ground footage and photographs with calm, empathetic narration.
Posts are designed to be fast, readable, and accessible on mobile and AMP.
Languages
English & Bengali (বাংলা)—many stories are bilingual or include Bengali captions for cultural nuance.
Who This Is For
Curious readers, Kolkata lovers, parents sharing culture with their children, students, researchers, and anyone
who wants taste-and-texture stories of Bengal—rooted in people and place.
